Dangerous Speech (DS) is any form of expression (maybe speech, text, or images) that can increase the risk of violence between ‘we’ and ‘they’, or ‘one group’ to ‘another group’ based on certain social and identity characteristics including gender, religion, nationality, race, color, social status, etc. Dangerous speech can be also a hateful expression or any other form of dehumanization/demeaning behavior/act. It is an expression (online or offline) not necessarily true or false, right or wrong, and good or bad. Every day a million speeches appear online with hate and dangerous content on social media. There is also a 25 percent increase in harmful content on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic time. It is crucially important to counter online dangerous content to establish digital peacebuilding. SAVE Youth Bangladesh in partnership with Resiliency Initiative (RI) and support from the Asia Foundation (TAF) and Meta (Facebook) is hosting an ‘Art Contest’ countering dangerous speech with positive messaging. The Art Responses may be in four categories: Hand art, digital illustration, animated video, and graffiti. Bangladeshi youth, students, and activists (18-32 years of age) are invited to submit original artworks from July 20 to August 16, 2022 (5.00 pm) At: artads.bd@gmail.com.
The best content creator will be declared as ‘Youth Spotlight’ and will be awarded with a Tab (Nokia T10/ Honor Tablet v7 pro/ Lenovo Tab M7/ Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0). A few more will declare runners-up with special gifts. All accepted artworks will receive a certificate of participation.
Following are the important rules:

Eligibility to participate:
1. The artworks must reflect a counter message of hate and dangerous speech or act.
2. Participants must be youth, students, and activists (18-32 years).
Rules for the contest:
1. Participants should send their content through the google form from 20 July to 16 August (5.00 pm).

2. Participants may send more than one content to this contest.
3. Organizers will be posting primarily accepted content on three social media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter). The participants will be further asked to share work as much as possible on the three social media.
4. Participants will use the hashtag while sharing the work: #nodangerousspeechbd
5. The total marks for evaluation will be 100. We will count 70 marks from the responses of the audience reaction. That means you will get more marks if you get more reacts and comments on the post. We will be counting from each of the social media, i.e., Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
6. The rest of the 30 marks will be given by the expert judges.
7. The decision of the organizing committee shall be final.
The benefit of participation:
1. The best content creator will be declared as “Youth Spotlight”. He will be awarded a Tab, crest, and certificates (Nokia T10/ Honor Tablet v7 pro or similar).
2. The runners-up will be awarded a crest, certificate, and prizes.
3. Each participant will get a participation certificate.
