Steeped in history, Jahangirnagar University (JU) is a prominent public research university in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1970, it has blossomed into one of the nation’s four autonomous universities. JU’s roots go back to the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance, enacted during Pakistani rule. Following Bangladesh’s independence, the university was reshaped into its current form.
