Cyberbullying is an insidious form of bullying that can drive them into a deeper mental health crisis and even compel them to commit suicide. CyberGuard is an interventional project to work against Cyber-Bullying in Social Media. One of the resilient youth Shafayet Tohan initiated the project in order to give a parental guide to the victims of Cuber bullying. The motive is to protect the youth from the lousiest experience they could ever get from social media. CyberGuard is working to bring awareness to the youth community but as our motive goes for the intervention things, it will mostly work with those people who are facing bullying in Social Media. CyberGuard is working as an online tool where the victims of cyberbullying can use it to resolve their problems.
There is a Facebook page named “SAVE Youth- CyberGuard”. There’s also a “Messenger Support” as well as “WhatsApp Helpline” where victims can reach CyberGuard easily. Victims get three stages of therapy or moderation: theoretical discussion about Cyber-bullying, introducing practical solutions about Cyber-bullying, and making them capable of dodging Cyber-bullying. Two of the victims who approached to Cyberguard are women from a public university. They contacted Tohan via the Cyberguard Facebook group. They were verbally and sexually harassed in Facebook chat. They informed the overall matter to him. Initially, theoretical knowledge about cyberbullying was given. Also, Tohan found out the perpetrators and helped the victims to get legal support.
