SAVE Youth Bangladesh recently hosted a two-day workshop series at the University of Dhaka! Over 80 enthusiastic students from seven different colleges affiliated with the university participated in this exciting event (April 19th & 20th, 2024).
The “Youth Leadership and Civic Engagement” workshops focused on fostering leadership skills, democratic values, and a commitment to human rights. Participants explored communication techniques, ethical leadership principles, and the power of civic engagement with action projects.
SAVE Youth Bangladesh believes in inclusivity, and this workshop reflected that value. With 25 female and 56 male participants, the event brought together a diverse group of young people eager to learn and grow.
The success of the workshops wouldn’t have been possible without the support of amazing partners like the Microgovernance Research Initiative (MGR), the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), and USAID. Their collaboration demonstrates the power of working together to empower young minds.
The workshops featured inspiring presentations by Aynul Islam (National Moderator of SAVE Youth) and Lasanthi Daskon (Deputy Country Director, IFES Bangladesh). A talented team of trainers – Gazi Raushan Habib Anika, Mazhar Uddin Bhuiyan, and New Master Trainers – Rezwana Saima, Nishat Saba, Shahrier Adnan, Tabassum Prerona, Naima Tarannum, Shaharia Mahmud, Abrar Faiaz Zihan, and Nowshin Anjum – kept the sessions interactive, informative, and engaging. They shared their knowledge and ignited a passion for positive change within the participants, encouraging them to get involved in their communities.
The students’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn were truly inspiring! Young people are brimming with ideas for making a difference. SAVE Youth Bangladesh is dedicated to supporting and equipping them with the tools they need to create a kinder, more understanding world.
This workshop marked the 16th chapter of the SAVE Youth network, expanding its reach within Dhaka University and its affiliated colleges. Participants left the workshop with a heightened awareness of democratic values, leadership skills, and the importance of inclusivity and tolerance. They’re eager to apply these concepts and embark on community action projects.
